Family Field Trip

Jeff and I decided this fall to brave the zoo with our four dears.

It turned out to be a pretty fun trip. Of course, it was not as ideal as I had imagined! Children skipping while holding hands. Children discussing vertebrates and invertebrates. But, it did give us a fun glimpse into future outings becoming easier and hopefully even more enjoyable!

First stop was the elephant area.

Even though Noah is generally the "scared" guy out of the group, I thought that he would really be into the zoo because he loves animals. In fact, every time we drive by one of the statue buffaloes in town, he growls. I thought that he would do the same to the animals at the zoo. This was not the case. As soon as we laid eyes on the elephant, he became VERY nervous. He was begging me to back up and stay AWAY from the LARGE moving object!

Of course, we had to snap pics at the token pic places.

Micah couldn't get enough of the fish in the Rainforest!

We took a few minutes to rock climb outside of the Rainforest.

And, then of course we had to play on the playground!

The "favorite spot" deemed by the girls this trip was the seal exhibition.

I had no idea or else I would have taken more pics!
They have been working on the seal exhibit for many months, and it finally opened this year.
It's a pretty neat exhibition. Trainers come out and work with the seals.

This was at the end of the trip so the boys were hot and irritated; therefore, we did not stay long.

All in all it was a fun trip! We so often don't take time to enjoy our family just as a small group because we like to do things with friends and family! But, it was great to just interact with one another. I look forward even more as the boys get older, and we can enjoy more times like this!
